Welcome to the PE Department
Our Intent
Underpinning the delivery of Physical Education within Branston Community Academy is a commitment to allow the greatest number of opportunities, for the greatest number of pupils, in the greatest number of sports possible.
High Opportunities + High numbers of Pupils + Large range of sports = Success!
Our aim is to complement and support the aims of the Academy as a whole. Our mission is to develop positive attitudes towards physical activity which will enable our children to make good healthy lifestyle choices and promote life-long participation in sport. This is with a view to increasing the range of experiences that students have, enabling them to make informed choices for the adoption of healthy and active lifestyles in adult life
We deliver a broad, multifaceted curriculum and enrichment programme that is not influenced by gender, social or economic bias. The aim of Physical Education at this Academy is to instil lifelong engagement in sport, and to embed an understanding of the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle. In this regard, we are committed to developing an environment in which pupils work outside of the comfort zone, utilizing new opportunities and embracing mistakes and misconceptions as a method of improvement.
