Grim Tales – Wickedly Ever After is now going to print! – Creative Writing Competition

Congratulations to 26 students from our Creative Writing Club, whose mini sagas have been selected to be published. Recently, they entered a Young Writers’ Short Story Competition called Grim Tales. Using well-known fairy tales, folklore, myths or legends to inspire them, they twisted these stories into something original. As well as their work being published, they also have the chance to win some amazing prizes.
It’s always a pleasure to see our students’ hard work rewarded. We look forward to seeing their stories in print soon.

Fright Club – Creepy Moments Creative Writing Competition

Congratulations to students in our lunch time Creative Writing Club. In December, they entered a Young Writers’ short story competition. The subject was Fright Club – Creepy Moments and their writing included creepy tales, urban legends and supernatural spine-chillers.

We are pleased to announce that 9 students were successful and will have their stories published

It’s always a pleasure to see our students’ hard work rewarded. We look forward to seeing their stories in print soon.

World Book Day 2024

On Thursday 7th March 2024 we will be celebrating World Book Day in School and a number of activities have been planned including various competitions and book swaps. All KS3 students should have received World Book Day vouchers from their tutors.

The Big Book Swap will take place in the Library on Thursday lunchtime between 12.30 – 1pm. Students are invited to bring a good quality book in which is aimed at  a KS3 or KS4 audience (Years 7-11). They will then have a chance to swap it for a wide range of books we have available . It’s as simple as that! If anyone does want to take part but does not have a book to swap, then a minimum donation of fifty pence per book is acceptable but please ensure that your child brings the correct money as no change is available.

It would be great to see as many students as possible taking part so do hunt around for those potential swaps this weekend!
