KS3 – Aiming High

Our KS3 students are focussing on the Aim High and Staying Positive skills this term.

This encourages them to practice recognising when they are finding something difficult, setting achievable  goals, and keeping a positive mindset.
You can discuss these with your child(ren) by looking in their planner to see what progress they have made.

Charity – Year 13 Skydive

Year 13 student Leah is trying to raise awareness and support for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

On February 16th 2024, Leah is jumping out of a plane and sky diving to raise some much-needed funds for the MND Association.

She has already raised and amazing £1000!

If anyone is able to finally support this cause, please click on the link below which will take you straight to Leah’s just giving page.

Duke of Edinburgh – Presentation Evening 2024

Last night saw the first Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme Presentation Evening at Branston Community Academy.

Students from years 10 to 13 received a mixture of Bronze and Silver Awards. These are the accumulation of hard work and determination. Each student had to complete physical, skills and volunteering sections alongside either a 2 or 3 day expedition in which they were required to carry everything they needed for the duration.

It was lovely to see so many family members and supporters coming together for our first presentation evening and they were treated to homemade cakes that were baked by both staff and students.

We were fortunate to be Joined by Sally Bentley who talked to the students about how her own experiences of Duke of Edinburgh had inspired her throughout her life and now retirement. We wish her well on her next adventure and look forward to hearing all about it when she returns to help us with the next cohort of students as they prepare for their expeditions.
