Y12 Work Experience

Our Year 12 students took part in a week’s  work experience during June/July. The aim of year 12 work experience is for students to gain experience in the sector they hope to work in after they have completed their full time education.
For this reason, students were encouraged to find their own placements to fit with their individual career ideas or as close to their ideas as possible.
There has been a wide range of placements including:
Education and Pre School,  Archaeology,  Animal Care,  Sport,  Architecture, Marketing, and Health Care.
A number of our students secured ward based placements at Lincoln County Hospital through the Talent Academy, another two students, hoping to become GPs have secured  placements with local surgeries.
Further to these placements, one student whilst on placement with the Maths & Physics faculty at the University of Lincoln wrote a blog which is being published on their website, the blog is called ‘Is the science of Stranger Things accurate?’  please see the link below:
These photos show some of the amazing opportunities our students had whilst on placement.
A big thank you to all of the employers who supported us with our work experience programme.

Year 9 Learn to Earn Enterprise Day

We had an incredible day as our Level 3 BTEC Business students took the lead in organizing the “Year 9 Learn to Earn Enterprise Day” on Wednesday 17th June.

The two sessions started with a fun and creative icebreaker – building spaghetti towers – which got everyone engaged and working together. A highlight of the day was the interactive careers wheel, where students engaged with external Business Advisors, asking thoughtful questions and gaining real-life insight.

Our sixth formers then delivered an insightful session on different career pathways, covering Be Your Own Boss, Apprenticeships and Further Education.

To finish the sessions, students worked in teams to design an app for the school which focused on careers, showcasing their teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills. Congratulations to Group 11 for winning both the AM & PM sessions.

We were especially proud to hear our Business Advisors’ comment on how amazing, engaged and respectful our students were throughout the day.

A massive thank you to our brilliant Business Advisors who generously gave their time and shared their expertise – their support made a real difference!

We’re so proud of everyone involved – What a fantastic day of learning, inspiration and planning for future careers.
