Big info splurge yesterday as we build up to the summer break and run out of working hours. Lots of emails, texts and FB updates came your way.

If you missed it, we added parents’ evening events to our Facebook page so you can sign up and get reminders.

These posts may have been lost in the morning news drama and adverts, so here’s a fresh update.

The full list of parents’ evenings can be also be seen and downloaded here.

Year 9 – Enterprise Day 2023

The event was held Wednesday 5th July for the whole of Year 9, as a first introduction to possible career routes.  They had the opportunity to speak to external Business Advisors from many local businesses, including NatWest, NHS Corporate, IBM, BAE Systems, PepsiCo and a Surveyor from Lincoln City Council to name few.  In fact, we were supported by 18 Business Advisors.
They completed a range of activities from building a spaghetti and marshmallow tower to designing a career App for them to use in the future.

Quotes from the Business Advisors:

“Very well organised with interesting and thought-provoking activities”

“Whole day was excellent, with clear instructions from the team”
The event was run by the BTEC Sixth Form Business students alongside the Business Department to support their qualification.

Well done to all students and Business Advisors for a successful day.

Geography – Year 7 Trip to Edale

Yesterday, some of our year 7 Geographers visited Edale in the Peak District to conduct a river study. They carried out fieldwork on two different parts of the river. This included measuring the width and depth of the river, the velocity (speed) and also taking sediment samples. All of the students were involved in the fieldwork, and it was a great way to link some of their knowledge they had learnt on the topic of rivers in lessons to a real-life example! Food Technology – Cheesecakes

Mrs Lawrence’s group were brilliant at making their own cheesecakes today! The class really listened to instructions and applied some interesting adaptations to their cheesecakes. Please find images of the students work below.
