Year 9 Enterprise day

We had an incredible day as our Level 3 BTEC Business students took the lead in organizing the “Year 9 Enterprise Day” on Tuesday 17th June.
The two sessions started with a fun and creative icebreaker – building spaghetti towers – which got everyone engaged and working together.
A highlight of the day was the interactive careers wheel, where students engaged with external Business Advisors, asking thoughtful questions and gaining real-life insight.
Our sixth formers then delivered an insightful session on different career pathways, covering Be Your Own Boss, Apprenticeships and Further Education.
To finish the sessions, students worked in teams to design an app for the school which focused on careers, showcasing their teamwork, creativity and problem-solving skills. Congratulations to Group 5 for winning in the AM session and Group 11 for winning in the PM session.
We were especially proud to hear our Business Advisors’ comment on how amazing, engaged and respectful our students were throughout the day.
A massive thank you to our brilliant Business Advisors who generously gave their time and shared their expertise – their support made a real difference!
We’re so proud of everyone involved – What a fantastic day of learning, inspiration and planning for future careers.

Year 12 Work Experience 2024

Our Year 12 students had work experience from the 24th to 28th June.
The photos below show some of the amazing opportunities they had whilst on placement.

Health & Social Careers fair 2023 – Careers

40 Health and Social Care students years 10-12 attended the Health and Social Care careers fair at Lincoln University on Tuesday!

They enjoyed the experience and gained a huge insight to the range of career options available to them!

It was great to catch up with ex students Katy Allen on the speech and language stand, and Jayden Carey who was part of the events team!

Photos of the event can be found below.

Year 9 – Enterprise Day 2023

The event was held Wednesday 5th July for the whole of Year 9, as a first introduction to possible career routes.  They had the opportunity to speak to external Business Advisors from many local businesses, including NatWest, NHS Corporate, IBM, BAE Systems, PepsiCo and a Surveyor from Lincoln City Council to name few.  In fact, we were supported by 18 Business Advisors.
They completed a range of activities from building a spaghetti and marshmallow tower to designing a career App for them to use in the future.

Quotes from the Business Advisors:

“Very well organised with interesting and thought-provoking activities”

“Whole day was excellent, with clear instructions from the team”
The event was run by the BTEC Sixth Form Business students alongside the Business Department to support their qualification.

Well done to all students and Business Advisors for a successful day.
