Yr 10 Work Experience

Our year 10 students had their work experience during the week of 16th March.

These photos show some of the fantastic opportunities our students had whilst on placement. There was  a huge number and a wide variety of employers involved including builders, motor vehicle engineers, hospitality venues, child care settings, building societies and many  more.

Below are a few quotes from some of the employers:

‘Your contractors were very polite and efficient and this includes the young man on work experience today.’

I just wanted to send a huge thank you to three girls who came last week, they were brilliant and the children adored them!

it has been great to have her here and she has completed all tasks to a high standard, she has been professional, polite and has really got stuck in.

Showing interest, asking questions/keen to learn, been on time each day, always puts his phone away whilst working.

A very successful week, with some student gaining weekend or part-time work, whilst others were offered apprenticeships for the future!

Exam Certificate Collection.

Examination certificates for those candidates who sat exams during Summer 2025 will be available for collection from the Branston Community Academy school reception on Wednesday 14th January, between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
If someone is collecting the certificate on the candidate’s behalf, they must bring valid identification, and a signature will be required upon collection.
Result certificates are proof of education and will be required during additional education and employment therefore, it is important these are collected and kept safe.

STEM RTX Quadcopter Challenge 2025

A small team of Year 9 students entered this years STEM RTX Quadcopter Challenge. The team made it through the initial round of the competition with their ‘Dogcopter’  a machine designed to track and locate missing dogs for Doris Banham Dog Rescue in Retford. The three students involved (Joseph , George  and William) learnt how to build, modify, maintain and fly their drone.

Last Tuesday at the regional finals held at Kesteven and Sleaford High School in Sleaford they presented their completed drone in front of a panel of expert engineers and then had to fly it through a very challenging obstacle course in the quickest time. Despite some excellent flying from George the boys sadly were unable to secure a spot at the national finals in London, however I’m sure you will agree they did very well to get this far!Quad Copter challenge 2025
