Year 13 student Leah is trying to raise awareness and support for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
On February 16th 2024, Leah is jumping out of a plane and sky diving to raise some much-needed funds for the MND Association.
She has already raised and amazing £1000!
If anyone is able to finally support this cause, please click on the link below which will take you straight to Leah’s just giving page.
Yesterday marked the first day of fundraising for this years chosen Sixth Form charity – Motor Neurone Disease Association; the charity was voted in by the Sixth Formers earlier this year.
The Sixth Formers and staff dressed in their pyjamas and spent their lunchtime watching The Polar Express and drinking hot chocolate.
Each tutor group submitted a photograph to enter an inter form contest to be the best dressed.
The support was amazing with most tutor groups having almost every student in their pyjamas.
They raised just over £100 to kick off their fundraising.
Anti-Bullying Week got started off with Odd Socks Day which saw a wide array of brightly coloured socks and an amazing display of designs for the Odd Socks Competition.
The winners of the Odd Sock competition were presented with their prizes on Thursday, odd socks of course!
Throughout the week, our Community Ambassadors were on hand to collect and organise donations for Branston foodbank.
On Thursday, we delivered a car load of food to the foodbank and our Duke of Edinburgh Community Ambassadors were on hand to put it all away ready for being distributed to local families.
We also received £209 in donations. The foodbank uses this money to buy co-op vouchers so that families have the opportunity to buy fresh foods to go alongside the hampers of non perishable food and products.
We have another load of donations that will be dropped off next week.
Thank you to all of those that donated towards this valuable resource in our local community!
Sixth-Form students organised a Bake Sale for Children in Need 2023.
Once again there was an amazing selection of cakes on sale and not a crumb left by the end of morning break.
Thank you to all staff and students who baked or donated cakes for this event.
A special mention for Luke, one of our Year 7 roving Ambassadors for his amazing Pudsey Bear cake – it was delicious.
A total of £278.19 has been raised for Children in Need from the bake sale fundraiser!
